#VeryBadDayEvent It Will Knock Your Socks Off! Review

Disney has done it again! Today is the opening of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY. You can follow on Twitter with #VeryBadDay and/or #VeryBadDayEvent to catch the latest posts.

When 24 bloggers and myself were in LA at the end of September, we were able to see the movie ahead of time for our review. I have to tell you it was one of the funniest movies I have watched in a long time. It seemed like no one left the theatre, and I was absorbed into the plot just as soon as it started. I loved the movie and it is one I will watch many times in the future. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY comes to theatres TODAY October 10, 2014.

Some Background on the Movie

“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” movie brings the 1972 children’s book of the same name by Judith Viorst to the big screen.

Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life—a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one. “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” directed by Independent Spirit Award-winner Miguel Arteta (“The Good Girl,” “Cedar Rapids,” “Youth in Revolt”) from a screenplay by Rob Lieber, is a 21 Laps Entertainment/Jim Henson Company production.

My favorite quote in the movie I would have to say is when Alexander (played by Ed Oxenbould) says, “Sometimes the bad days are there to make us appreciate the good days even more..”

I am including a few clips to hold you over until you can get to a theatre near you!
