Tomorrowland @Disneyland |Special Extended Sneak Peek|#TommorowLandEvent

**Disney sent me to LA for the #TomorrowLandEvent for an all expenses paid trip to cover press with 24 other bloggers.  All opinions are mine.**

Last week at the Tomorrowland press junket we were able to spend the day at Disneyland. We had the opportunity to visit the Tomorrowland Special Extended Sneak Peek. From blowing wind to the movement of the theater chairs, it was an awesome experience. I wish all theaters had this for movies!  This is held in the Tomorrowland theater, where you can experience a full 12 minutes of the movie that will be hitting theaters May 22, 2015.

There is also a whole exhibit section before you enter the theater with props from the movie.  You can also see items from the 1964 – 1965 Worlds Fair which is incorporated into the movie also.

“Remember Tomorrow”

The statement, “Remember Tomorrow”, is so fitting to show at the entrance of the Tomorrowland exhibit.  I look back to when I was a pre-teen wondering about the future. How far would we be with technology? I remember watching “The Jetsons”, thinking it would be so cool if we were flying to school or to work.  So when I saw the jetpack in the display it brought to light just how advanced Walt Disney was in his thinking when it came to Tomorrowland.  When thinking of Tomorrowland, I agree with others that have said it is ‘futuristic retro’.  The premise is on a time in the future, yet all of the props are ‘old’, so to speak.

The Black Box from 1952

What really intrigued me was the “Black Box”. The box, marked with the label “1952” served as inspiration for Tomorrowland. I really enjoy seeing items like this that have been kept safe for years.  This box was reportedly found under the old Animation building on the Burbank, California Walt Disney Studios lot.  I couldn’t imagine how much fun it would be to poke around in there! I would feel like a kid in the candy store.

Bel-Gem Waffle Sign

Another neat item I was able to take a photo of was the cost of the Bel-gum Waffles back in that time.  I giggled at the spelling as I have always known it to be spelled ‘belgium’.  By the way, I love Belgium waffles.  Look at the prices for a jumbo size!

From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s riveting, mystery adventure “Tomorrowland,” starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.

Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.

You can see Tomorrowland in theaters on May 22, it is rated PG.  Will you be taking your family? For now enjoy the trailer below. You can also connect with Tomorrowland on social media.
