Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Movie Review

If you have ever had a bad day; then you can relate to the Cooper family. Alexander (their second to youngest who is turning 12) always has a bad day. His bad days are to the point that you can’t help feeling sorry for him. Feeling a bit sorry for himself he celebrates his birthday by himself with the help of the classroom guinea pig; at the stroke of midnight. His wish is that the rest of the family can see what a very bad, horrible, no good, very bad day really feels like.

The family’s very bad day starts first thing in the morning; with the family oversleeping. From there the rest of the day goes down hill. One phrase that Alexander says during the movie really touched my heart. “Sometimes we have to experience the bad days, to enjoy the good ones.” (paraphrased).

With the help of Steve Carell (Ben Cooper), Jennifer Garner ( Kelly Cooper), Anthony (Dylan Minnett), Emily (Kerris Dorsey), Alexander (Ed Oxenbould, and baby Trevor (played by Elise & Zoey Vargas); this day provides humor and laughs. Bella Thorne (Ceilia)  also plays the girlfriend of Anthony.

While watching, you forget that it is all happening in one day.  There are points in the movie that I actually laughed out loud.
