The Light Between Oceans Movie Review

The Light Between Oceans

*I received a Blu-Ray copy of the movie The Light Between Oceans in order to facilitate this review, however as always opinions are 100% my own. ‘

There is nothing better than a chick flick that you can sit down and watch cuddled up with your favorite blanket.  Love stories are always a hit for me, but Brady just rolls his eyes and agrees to watch them with me. 9 times out of 10 he spends the time on his phone, but that is okay, you can’t win them all. The movie The Light Between Oceans was a must see for me because of the preview, it looked enchanting yet heartbreaking at the same time.  So I knew when I had the chance to watch it, I knew I would love it. But I wasn’t ready for the emotional rollercoaster ride I went on because I felt like I was in the movie the right along with them.

Watch a story that is a timeless tale of love, relationships, and impossible choices.  The sweeping romantic film, Disney/Dreamworks Pictures’ The Light Between Oceans, arrives on Digital HD, Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand on Jan. 24th. This beautiful romance stars two-time Academy Award® nominee Michael Fassbender (Best Actor, Steve Jobs), Oscar® winner Alicia Vikander (Best Supporting Actress, The Danish Girl), and Oscar and Golden Globe® winner Rachel Weisz (Best Supporting Actress, The Constant Gardener).

The Light Between Oceans

This release includes never-before-seen bonus features, including a documentary which reveals director Derek Cianfrance’s unique approach that allowed the all-star cast to embody their characters and examine the power of love; a historical look at New Zealand’s Cape Campbell Lighthouse that serves as Janus Rock, a key element in Stedman’s novel; and insightful and in-depth audio commentary led by Cianfrance.

In a moment of loss came a miracle of life… I will have to admit though that the preview had me in tears of sadness and joy! Grab the box of tissues and check out this preview now! There is even a book which will be wonderful to read!

In the years following World War I, Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender), a young veteran still numb from his years in combat, takes a job as lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, a remote island off the coast of Western Australia. As the island’s sole inhabitant, he finds comfort in the monotony of the chores and the solitude of his surroundings. When he meets the daughter of the school’s headmaster, Isabel Graysmark (Alicia Vikander), in the local town of Partageuse on the mainland, Tom is immediately captivated by her beauty, wit and passion, and they are soon married and living on the island. As their love flourishes, he begins to feel again, their happiness marred only by their inability to start a family, so when a rowboat with a dead man and infant girl mysteriously washes ashore, Isabel believes their prayers may have finally been answered. As a man of principle, Tom is torn between reporting the lost child and pleasing the woman he loves, and against his better judgment he agrees to let Isabel raise the child as their own, making a choice with devastating consequences. Becky Willis

Wife, mother, grandma, blogger, all wrapped into one person, although it does not define her these are roles that are important to her. On 9/11/16 Becky smoked her last cigarette which also was the same day as her last cup of coffee, she mourns the latter greatly. Entering into their 'empty nest' stage in life, Becky, and her husband Roger are learning to live with their youngest away at school more than not. Becky enjoys way too many TV programs but her favorites are normally criminal based or something to make her laugh. Keep an eye out because 2017 is going to be her year!
