My Time at the #FindingDoryEvent Blue Carpet Premiere & Giveaway

Sharing my experience of attending the #FindingDoryEvent Blue Carpet |  plus an Alex Woo Giveaway – 2 winners.

Wow…. from June 7-9th I was able to attend the #FindingDoryEvent which included watching Finding Dory in the ElCapitan Theater and walking the “Blue Carpet”.  So much to see and experience I am hoping to be able to capture my emotions all in this post.

For me getting ready for a movie premiere made me uptight.  Hoping I look nice in the dress I finally found at JCPenney after ordering 2 different ones the Saturday before I was leaving to the shoes that ended up being too big as I was trying to compensate for the “what if my feet swell like they do when I come to LA”.  My shoes were too big but that didn’t stop me!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have waited for 13 years for a ‘sequel’ to come out from Finding Nemo.  Then 3 years of that 13 waiting for this movie to come out.  So being able to take part in such a huge movie event was one of my dreams come true.

On our way to Finding Dory

Our shuttle was full of excitement, tweeting, and chatter as we rode to the event.  I was so excited to see the movie plus I wondered who I would be able to see star wise on the carpet.  There is so much going on while you are walking to the event.  People walking toward the gates to watch from the ‘other side’, the people walking on the street as well as characters. (Charlie Chaplin tried to help escort me).  On our way, we stopped on the Oscars stairs to have our photo taken at the Dolby theatre. How many times in one’s life can you say that happened?

We got to the area of the “Blue Carpet” and I tried to just take as many pictures as I could. It was everything Finding Dory and just amazing to see Hollywood Blvd all decked out.  You feel like your eyes are constantly darting everywhere so you don’t miss anything. I did see Mario Lopez while I was walking to the movie on the carpet but I wasn’t fast enough to get his picture.  I saw a glimpse of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

Finding Dory Blue Carpet Premiere

I have written my “no spoiler review” here:  My review of Finding Dory. You can check it out so you will be ready for the opening on June 17, 2016!

After the premiere, we picked up our phones (you aren’t allowed to take them into the theater with you), and made our way out to the after party.  So many people, food buffets, desserts and stars to look for.  They also had a band playing and different stations where kids could make different sized bubbles, face painting, some games and more. Nature’s Harvest had their own booth as well as Kraft Macaroni & Cheese and we were able to watch the person making the sand art for Finding Dory.

Then there were the stars that I was able to capture.  As I said before I did see Mario Lopez.  I also saw Portia de Rossi.  I did see Ed O’Neil (voice of Hank), Albert Brooks (voice of Marlin), and Eugene Levy (voice of Dory’s Dad Charlie).

I will sum up my experience for the Finding Dory Blue Carpet as surreal and amazing.  I am thankful to be able to experience the things I am able to do as a professional blogger with Disney.  If you would have asked me even 22 years ago where I would think I would have been on June 8, 2016 I would NEVER have guessed.
Thank you for sharing this experience with me by reading my post.
Remember Finding Dory hits theaters on June 17, 2016 (4 days away!!).  Enjoy this video and enjoy these Finding Dory activities here.
